Le Palais des Papes : descriptionThe Palais des Papes (Popes' Palace) is one of the most visited monument of France! The Popes' Palace is visible from very far and accentuate its aura on all the city. The impressive statue of the Virgin which overhangs the Notre-Dame of Doms cathedral allows to locate easily the Popes' Palace.
This cathedral is a part of the immense monument of the Popes' Palace, this monument constitutes the most importing Gothic palace of the world, with more than twenty places to visite: main courtyard, chapels, rooms, dining hall...
All year long, a rich cultural life is proposed in the Palais des Papes: thematic and educational exhibitions, visits with themes, concerts... During the summer season a big exhibition of art is located in the Big Chapel, while the representations of the Festival of Avignon (theatre festival), take place in July in the Main courtyard of the Palace.
