I visited Roussillon again a few years after taking this photo and
the house had been restored very unsympathtically and lost all of it's charm. I love the effect of the faded peeling paint. I had not realised until I visited the area, that ochre comes in many colours and the houses are painted in all of these variations. The ochre quarries are in the town and are open to the public.
