Towering above the town of Grimaud, the castle, or its remains, now seems to still be protecting the highly historic place.
Grimaud has had a castle since the 11th century. During the 13th century, walls were built around it to better protect the villagers and its inhabitants. After the French Revolution, it was abandoned and the castle was then used as a stone quarry. Nowerdays, despite being in ruins, the castle welcomes cultural events such as the Grimaldines festival.
